Walking into the Dave & Buster’s felt like stepping into an amusement park for grown‑ups. The location had an “all‑new” feel with sleek game suites, VIP lounge vibes and giant 40‑foot screens that bathed the floor in neon, I met up with my client, Sekaiya, near the entrance and immediately knew this would be a fun session. We wandered past rows of arcade cabinets, basketball hoops and racing simulators, taking mental notes of spots with interesting light. The vibrant backdrop set the tone: this wasn’t going to be a stiff studio shoot but rather a lively narrative that captured joy and motion. The staff gave us space to explore, so we grabbed a Power Card and loaded it up while planning our route. The venue is known for blending its “legendary food & drink” with entertainment, but for this shoot we focused on how the games shaped the atmosphere. We made use of the variety—VR pods, classic joystick games, tabletop competitions and air hockey tables—because Dave & Buster’s takes gameplay seriously and offers nearly every style of game. I captured Sekaiya’s candid reactions as she tried a virtual reality challenge, then switched to a more posed look with her leaning against a glowing pinball machine while giant screens in the background flickered with sports highlights.
